Job Description
The opportunity to deliver a leadership role within Glasgow City Council’s Property and Consulting Services department.
The post holder will lead a newly formed Specialist Services Group formed of Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers (Structural, Mechanical & Electrical).
Reporting to the Head of Consultancy Services, you will have group management responsibility for four teams that collectively provide specialist services to support delivery of the Council’s capital programme and revenue funded estate activity.
Specific duties will include providing direction on multi-disciplinary project delivery related contractual, programme, commercial, design and procurement matters; working in partnership with the wider Consultancy Services management team to deliver projects to programme, quality and cost and to improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness; management reporting including scrutiny of project status reports and fee drawdowns; representing Consultancy Services at internal meetings with Elected Members, Senior Managers, client departments and Arm’s-Length External Organisations (ALEOs); engaging with external stakeholders and participation in public meetings; and Inspiring, motivating, supporting and developing employees within the group to constantly improve the quality of the service.
