Summary

The post holder will achieve this by contributing to strategic planning, undertaking and overseeing service innovation, the provision of specialist training, development of accessible information resources, supporting the Green Light Toolkit development and rollout, and providing direct support and advice to a wide range of stakeholders including people who use our services, their carers and both internal and external staff as applicable.

- To play a key role in ensuring that our information is accessible and inclusive and that it reaches a wider group of communities, in line with our new Diversity and Inclusion framework

- To be the main point of contact for in relation to accessible information and easy read for both staff and clients.

- To act as information gatekeeper: responding to people’s requests, picking out the right pieces of information for them, or training people how to use the organisation’s internal databases and catalogues re AI in line with NHS England » Accessible Information Standard

- To lead in the development of the Trustwide Accessible Information (AI) web-based link in line with NHS England » Accessible Information Standard.

- To lead in development and implementation of the Green Light Toolkit NDTi | Green Light Toolkit 2022

- To support/guide/supervise as applicable all GLT champions Trustwide once established to support NDTi | Green Light Toolkit 2022

- To support objectives and develop strategic planning for AI and GLT.

- To make sure that the security, accessibility, and quality of the information remains consistent.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).

To manage a diverse workload in which there may be conflicting demands and changing priorities, often to tight deadlines.
Excellent communication, project management and prioritisation skills are essential.

The post holder will be expected to work with considerable autonomy and creativity making decisions on all aspects of accessible information and multi-media approaches, often taking a project management-based approach.

A considerable degree of technical knowledge and highly developed inter-personal skills are a pre- requisite for this post, given the range of potential tasks to be fulfilled and the variety of people the post holder will communicate with. Development of web based pages is required using the most suitable methods of communication for all.

The post holder will co-produce AI documents with patient leadership representatives and Persons With Lived Experience (PWLE). To ensure maximum involvement, the post holder is to support full participation in the shaping and development of service user responses.

The post holder will Chair all panel and task and finish groups for AI and GLT as required. For example, the document review panel held with patient leadership and PWLE, easy read task and finish group meetings.

The post holder will attend the GLT champions (once established) network meetings bi-monthly which will include bespoke training sessions.
