Job Title: Personal Injury Claims Negotiator - experienced
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Full Time, flexible option available
Starting salary Range: £25,600 - £38,400
Location: Eastleigh - hybrid
Personal Injury Negotiator: Due to growth a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Motor Personal Injury Team in our Eastleigh office. As a Personal Injury Negotiator, you will manage a portfolio of motor claims involving injury to third parties and have full ownership of each claim from notification to settlement.
You will be investigating and negotiating claims presented by third party claimants and/or their representatives in accordance with Company best practise and both Statutory and Regulatory requirements; to protect and control what we spend whilst ensuring that our customers receive great service and are treated fairly.
Working with a range of both internal and external stakeholders, excellent verbal/telephone, listening and writing skills are essential. You will work independently but managed and supported by a Team Leader. As part of a wider team, you will be utilising one another’s knowledge, skills and experiences to settle claims at the best cost.
As a Personal Injury Negotiator, you will have responsibility for maintaining your own personal development alongside a structured training programme and coaching from your manager
Here are some of the accountabilities of the Personal Injury Negotiator role:
To effectively manage a portfolio of personal injury claims from notification to settlement and with a handling authority of up to £100,000.
OIC, MOJ, Small Track, Fast Track and Multi Track claims.
To handle claims proactively and effectively, protecting claims costs with an emphasis on Third Party claims management, including injury, credit hire and repairs.
To handle claims in accordance with Company and Department best practise and both statutory and regulatory requirements.
Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly to ensure claims fall within the policy cover and our legal liabilities.
Maintain accurate reserves which reflect the Company’s true liabilities on each claim.
Provide all customers, internal and external with excellent customer service.
Take ownership of complaints, record details accurately and resolve in line with company policy.
To identify and investigate potentially fraudulent claims.
Act as a referral point for other less experienced members of the department.
To be successful in being considered for the Personal Injury Handler role you need:
Experience working as Motor Personal Injury Negotiator or equivalent role
Strong knowledge of insurance principles.
Experience Ideally within OIC, MOJ, Small Track, Fast Track and Multi Track claims.
Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening.
To be able to absorb information and evidence.
To be able to work proactively, effectively and independently.
Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
Good understanding of a claims environment, including protocols, legislation and the litigation process.
Strong investigation skills (including curiosity) with the ability to negotiate with third parties and/or their representatives.
To be a competent decision maker.
Awareness of cost/spend control.
A proven record of continuous self development/improvement.
Chartered Insurance Institute or equivalent legal qualification or making progress towards would be preferable.
