You'll be reporting to the Director of Group Origination and Distribution Platforms in Content, Technology & Innovation. You will be responsible for a number of key aspects related to lifecycle and reliability of broadcast services leveraging the capabilities in Origination and Distribution.

We are seeking a visionary Product Owner to be part of our dynamic Product team. This role requires a person who can balance innovative vision with practical insights, steering the work the wider team does through the complexities of product lifecycle management from ideation to retirement. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of the broadcast industry and a proven track record in product development and strategic planning.

What you'll do:

As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a dynamic product roadmap that aligns with the evolving landscape of the industry and technological advancements. Engaging deeply with external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry experts, is crucial to capture market demands and technological trends. This role is central in understanding and translating these insights into actionable strategies.

In this pivotal position, you will serve as the crucial link among project management, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure a unified approach to product development. You will translate market insights into clear technical requirements for engineering teams. Overseeing the deployment of solutions, you are expected to ensure they are delivered efficiently and effectively within the agreed-upon timelines and budgets.

Additionally, setting and monitoring performance metrics, including OKRs and KPIs, is a key responsibility. These metrics help evaluate the success of our products and ensure alignment with the strategic goals of the organization. Your role will also involve forging strong connections with operational and peer teams across the organization to gather insights into operational challenges and requirements.

By balancing innovative vision with practical insights from both the market and operational frontlines, you will ensure our product suite not only meets current industry needs but is also primed for future challenges and opportunities. This comprehensive approach to product lifecycle management, from ideation to retirement, demands a commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of the intricate ecosystem of broadcast television

  • Define Product Vision and Strategy: Set the strategic direction for the product, outlining clear goals and objectives that align with business needs and market opportunities.
  • Manage the Product Lifecycle: Oversee the entire lifecycle of the product, from conception through development, launch, and eventual sunset, ensuring each phase meets its objectives for quality, time, and budget.
  • Gather and Prioritize Requirements: Collect requirements from customers, stakeholders, and the market. Define user stories and prioritize these requirements in the product roadmap to ensure development efforts alight with the business goals.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure successful product development, launch, and adoption.
  • Monitor Market and Competitor Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and competitor movements to anticipate market needs and steer the product in a direction that offers competitive advantages.
  • Develop and Track Key Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of the product in meeting its intended goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate Roadmap progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders and upper management to ensure transparency and alignment

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
