Casual (part time hourly pay)

Location: York

Salary: £14.95 to £16.80 per hour

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to provide disability administrative support to a Neurodivergent member of staff, this opportunity is offered on the basis of a casual contract. We anticipate that this will include one hour on a Monday morning, with the possibility of up to four hours in total over the course of the week, depending on the requirements of the role.

Main duties include:

Time management - to lead and coordinate on the organising and planning of a staff member’s weekly diary including checking accuracy of electronic diaries, coordinating and supporting tutorial bookings, ensuring required tasks and deadlines are recorded in a to-do list, confirming arrangements for meetings, and assisting with sending calendar invites.

Administration – Coordinating and supporting the member of staff to manage and plan administrative tasks, completing relevant forms and university processes. Liaising with colleagues across the university as required and assisting with completing action points from meetings. Supporting the member of staff with navigating University systems and process to ensure compliance with appropriate internal procedures and policies, e.g. processing of travel expenses.

The Team

The post is within the School of Humanities English Literature subject area, supporting an Academic member of staff and working alongside another Disability Administrative Support.

Required skills and experience

The post holder will be proficient in IT and will have excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and forward planning. The ability to work closely with an individual is paramount to enable a consistent, high quality standard of support and advice in a confidential setting.
