Summary


Croydon University Hospital welcomes applications for a Specialty Doctor in Restorative Dentistry (endodontics) to join a vibrant Restorative Dentistry team.

The post is available part time for two days a week, Tuesday/Thursday ideally, though there may be flexibility and the option of job sharing. The role would ideally suit specialists in Endodontics looking for clinical, teaching and managerial hospital experience. The appointee(s) will be expected to contribute to providing clinical and managerial service in Endodontics. The appointee may also be expected to provide assessment of patients referred to the Department of Restorative Dentistry in Endodontics.

Candidates should ideally on the GDC specialist register or within six months of CCST

Croydon University Hospital has recently invested in a brand new clinical area including modern surgeries and equipment, and a brand new PGMC phantom head teaching room through Health Education England. In Restorative Dentistry, there are two part time consultants in post striving to establish national and international reputation for clinical excellence and innovation. This is therefore an exciting time to join our department due to the considerable opportunities to help grow the Restorative Dentistry service. Informal training and supervision are available as required.

Main Duties of the Job

- Assessment of endodontic patients referred to the department

- Treatment of patients referred for endodontic management

- Referral of patients back to the referring clinician following successful treatment

- Take part in audit and research at both department and hospital level where appropriate

- Participate in training when and if appropriate

- Be able to work independently
