Job title: Virtualization and Cloud Computing Infrastructure Operations Engineer
Working as a member of a growing team, you will play a vital role in supporting, monitoring, analysis and management of virtualization and cloud computing infrastructure from client networks and systems. This is a hands-on operational role where you will be deeply involved in day-to-day virtualization and cloud computing operations and resolve incidents promptly.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• When failures and performance issues occur, quickly locate the root cause of the problem and immediately implement solutions, eliminate the failure and provide detailed analysis and processing reports.
• Develop and implement periodic inspection plans for data centre. virtualization and desktop virtualization, and continuously optimize execution efficiency through automated tools and scripts.
• Guide customers to develop daily operation and maintenance management and monitoring strategies for data centre virtualization and desktop virtualization.
• Plan and implement regular updates and optimizations of virtualization infrastructure to ensure optimal security and performance of the system.
• Manage and coordinate the manufacturer's Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineers to jointly solve complex problems.
Personal Specifications:
Qualifications and requirements:
• Educated in BSc Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of IT operation and maintenance experience, with expertise in data centre and desktop virtualization.
• Proficient in at least one type of virtualization operation and maintenance, including but not limited to VMware vSphere, KVM, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenDesktop and VMware Horizon.
• Be familiar with the operation and maintenance of at least one public cloud, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or Huawei Cloud.
• Be familiar with operating systems (such as Windows Server, Linux, etc.), network technologies, and hardware configurations (including servers, storage systems, and SAN networks).
• Deploy and use advanced virtualization operation and maintenance tools, especially Windows performance and fault analysis tools, such as Windows Performance Monitor (PerfMon) and Windows Sysinternals.
• Linux performance and fault analysis tools, such as SystemTap and Perf. Network packet capture tools, such as Wireshark and TCPDump, are used to diagnose network problems and performance analysis.
• Write and optimize operation and maintenance scripts to reduce manual intervention and improve system stability and efficiency through automated operation and maintenance processes. Use scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.
• Candidates with experience in implementing automated operation and maintenance in enterprise hybrid cloud environments are preferred.
