MAN NEEDED




Direct Support workers facilitate the development and enhancement of Independent Living and other skills to enable client to maintain their independence and/or realize their goals.

Are you able to support a 44 year old man with physical disability - he needs support with all aspects of his care & to live his life to the full both in his home & in the community!

Support is provided by 1 or 2 PA's at any one time - hours are generally between 7.30am-11pm

Are you -
* flexible & able to work weekdays/weekends/evenings?
* imaginative & motivated, with a good sense of humour?
* able to work as part of a team & follow directions as to how support is to be provided?
*
* a good communicator with the ability to allow someone the time to make their own choices & be in control of their own life

Experience is desirable particularly around support planning/risk assessment & researching rehabilitation opportunities - & putting them into practice!

If appointed -
basic rate £10.50 per hour plus holiday entailment pay (holiday pay)

Main Duties and Responsibilities.
Contribute to the development of my individualized and achievable Person-Centered Plan.

Support and enable me to.
• Attend key appointments.

• Assist with shopping.
Increase socialization.
Do personal care.
• Undertake tasks as required and agreed with client.

• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Ability to build relationships and trust.
• Experience of working with complex problems including physical and emotional issues.
• CLEAN Drivers license is essential.
• You will have to have PVG done before you start the job (regulated work with protected adults they will be required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme as established by the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007)
