Your role and responsibilities
As our Alternative Provision and IYFAP Manager, you will be at the forefront of managing change and leading high-quality, effective ways of working. Your days will be diverse and impactful:
You will:
- oversee the In Year Fair Access Protocol (IYFAP) and Alternative Provision (AP) processes, including all bespoke packages and education pathways
- chair the IYFAP/AP meetings with schools and other settings
- lead on the strategy for IYFAP/AP
- organise panel meetings
- liaise between schools, education settings, families, and local authorities
- ensure compliance with admission policies, fair access protocols and all statutory guidance relating to alternative provision and attendance
- manage data and produce reports on IYFAP and AP outcomes
- have an awareness of the National and local agendas, which impact on children and young people in Suffolk
- demonstrate and apply a comprehensive understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and its broad areas as outlined in the SEND Code of Practice
- oversee the Monitoring and Evaluation Group for IYFAP and AP: advising on appropriate placement of children and young people referred for AP.

- a comprehensive understanding of legislation, guidance, and national policy framework relevant to service provision
- proven leadership qualities and interpersonal skills
- ability to influence, persuade, and encourage staff and colleagues within different contexts
- experience in successfully managing relevant services and improving performance
- excellent IT skills and the ability to work under pressure.

You will be joining our Alternative Provision team within the Inclusion service. We work together across other internal services and external partners to find solutions and create positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families who require access to alternative provision. Our goal is to support engagement, participation, and inclusion in education.
