We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced building compliance professional to join our busy Stafford based team as the Compliance Team Leader. Responsible for the day to management of the compliance team you will also have your own portfolio of contracts to work on at the same time.

You will be working for Capita's partnership with Staffordshire County Council called Entrust and working on broad spectrum of public sector properties including primary schools, high schools, academies, corporate public sector and some leisure facilities. This will offer the right candidate the opportunity to work on many varied and interesting projects across this arena.

This role will provide a wealth of opportunities to learn and develop and given that this is a band new position for us it will allow the successful candidate the chance to put their own stamp on this and make the role an invaluable part of the wider team. What you'll be doing :

• Have management responsibility for the Compliance Team and provide the operational lead to ensure the effective management and delivery of statutory compliance services. These include the service, testing and planned preventative maintenance of assets items including:- Alarm systems; Heating installations; Lifts; Water systems; Electrical systems; Gas systems.
• Lead in the delivery of clear property risk strategies for Entrust to assist its customers to fulfil their statutory (building services) landlord responsibilities taking account of all relevant legislation, approved codes of practice and available best practice working methods.
• Lead and monitor your business area to ensure that it comply at all times with the following:

• Relevant legislation, rules, principles, codes of practice, polices, Frameworks and Guidance
• Employment and Health, Safety & Environment legislation - Put in place arrangements for planning, organising, controlling, monitoring and reviewing preventative and protective measures.


• Ensure that appropriate and robust risk management processes are in place to monitor, identify and act upon changes to relevant statutory regulations and industry standards. This includes liaison with corporate bodies, advise to core partners
• Develop and maintain effective client and supplier relationships.
• Proactively support the bidding process to secure additional funds for customer projects for delivery by your team

What we're looking for :

• Property Management services in a multi-site environment, including issues related to premises and statutory obligations.
• Experience of risk management planning, performance management related to property and the management of property information and a comprehensive understanding of current issues in this field
• An in depth knowledge and awareness of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to property
• Relevant experience of developing and delivering strategies for the effective contract management.
• Experience of establishing excellent working relationships with Members, Officers and Partners and an ability to exercise tact and judgement where conflicts may arise
• A track record of innovation in a strategic role or through direct service provision.
• Knowledge of appropriate regulatory frameworks
• A broad working knowledge of service area and technical competence
