Thanet District Council has seen a rise in the number of homeless households approaching us for assistance. This is due to a number of factors including the increasing costs of privately rented properties and a reduced supply of suitable accommodation. To assist households who are experiencing homelessness we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Temporary Accommodation Team.

You will be responsible for managing the daily operation of the Council’s temporary accommodation units, and you will also be required to provide support to the residents who are in temporary accommodation.

We have recently completed the refurbishment of our temporary accommodation building and this role will take on the management of that building, along with other identified properties. You will be required to assist tenants to move in and out as required, take inventories and ensure agencies are aware of the tenants moving on. You will make regular visits and inspections to accommodation to ensure the property is in good order and instruct any repairs or redecoration as necessary.

This role will also involve office based duties, dealing with telephone and personal enquires, providing housing advice and dealing with all aspects of office administration to ensure the effective delivery of the temporary accommodation service.
Hybrid working considered.

Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of their pre-employment checks.
