Introduction
The Property and Asset Strategy (PAS) team leads the integrated property and asset management for the estate, managing building lifecycles and corporate property. They support the House/Parliament by advising Project Delivery and Maintenance groups and representing the estate with external bodies. Staffed by experts in various fields, the team provides direction and support to colleagues, consultants, and contractors, ensuring effective estate management.
The Role
This post will focus on managing and co-ordinating all aspects and activities associated with the management and governance of Parliamentary Technical Standards, that support the delivery of projects across the Estate, PAS Policies and Industry Standard.
The post holder will report to the Head of Design Management and Requirements. They will be required to be highly collaborative working across multiple departments of Parliament.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- Interface and set the strategy with the EIM Common Data Environment (CDE) Administration for managing the standards area data platform.
- Establish and manage the PAS Policies & Strategies management process.
- Establish and manage the technical standards management process and act as the gatekeeper for the standards and associated governance process.
- Work with technical leads to understand legislation or industry standard changes, and communicate these to the wider team.
- Ensure the whole organisation is aware of the standards and provide secretariat support to the chair of the Parliamentary Technical Standards Working Group.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Knowledge and experience of standards management during multi-disciplinary projects.
- Substantial experience in collating information from various sources, maintaining a live register, and assurance processes, along with working with key technical stakeholders and end users.
- Proven planning and organisational skills, managing competing priorities, and working under pressure.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including building relationships, promoting diversity and inclusion, and persuading others without direct authority.
- Proven experience in assurance and governance routes for documents, with knowledge of the impact of standards on equality, diversity, and inclusion
