Crynodeb
Deliver a workforce health immunisation program and provide public health immunisation and preplacement advice for health care workers as per Department of Health guidance. Ensure the safe and appropriate administration of vaccinations to staff. Advise on relevant vaccinations as per Department of Health guidance and Trust policy. Manage vaccination programs ensuring accurate records and timely recalls. Maintain the cleanliness of the clinical area/s and equipment to meet infection prevention and control audit standards. Work with pharmacy to ensure stock control; rotation of vaccines; and quality control. Communicate changes in clinical practice in accordance with legislation and best practice. Manage blood borne virus (BBV) contamination incidents providing empathetic support and evidence-based advice. Keep accurate database records of BBV contamination incidents and provide monthly/quarterly reports to the health and safety committees and relevant managers in line with COSHH regulations. Work with the Workforce health and wellbeing clinical lead nurse to ensure the departmental standard operating procedure is current and approved at the medicines management committee. Complete pre-employment health assessments. Deliver wellbeing initiatives. Assist with the management of disease outbreaks and support staff with current and relevant advice. Contribute to the improvement of services by discussing potential ideas with senior staff and supporting other staff in understanding the need for and making agreed changes. To be aware and follow departmental standards to review and make suggestions for improvement. Advise on day-to-day workforce health matters and assist other workforce health colleagues. To participate in departmental audit processes. Where appropriate, assist in the development and delivery of staff training sessions relevant to the workforces Health needs including supervision of student nurses. To attend team meetings and participate in other working groups as appropriate and assist in the development of Health and Safety policy, procedures and training. Keep suitable and accurate departmental and personal records. When necessary, liaise with other specialist teams e.g. Infection Control Risk; Health & Safety; Manual Handling Trainers. Adhere to Trust policy and departmental process to manage potential health, safety and security risks.
