Vacancy: Clinic Support Worker
Hours 37.5 hours per week. This is a full time post Monday – Friday with shifts between the times of 8am and 7pm.
The Outpatients Department of The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore Site is looking for motivated and enthusiastic new members of staff to join our team to work as a band 3 Clinic Support Worker.
Our outpatient department is a fast paced environment and we see patients with a variety of specialist orthopaedic conditions.
This post involves working in and rotating through clinics, treatment areas, reception, and note preparation, with direct patient contact at both reception and in the clinical area.
The CSWs will work directly with qualified nurses and members of the multi disciplinary team.
Candidates must be flexible, adaptable and able to work both in a team and independently.
Candidates are required to be computer literate.
Candidates will rotate through the department on a daily basis. The candidate will welcome patients at reception and check them in for their appointment.
Candidates will also work in the clinics and assist patients and clinicians in the smooth running of the clinics.
The role also includes working in the clinic prepping area, which involves ensuring all the patients online notes are up to date and printing off all necessary documentation for upcoming clinics.
The candidate will also be trained in phlebotomy and will be rotated into this room on a regular basis to assist the phlebotomist. We have an adult department and a paediatric department and candidates will be rotated through both of them.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.
We are also looking for a good team player and someone who is able to use their initiative.
Previous clinical experience of at least 1 year is essential. Any additional training can be provided.

The Team:
Our team in Stanmore Outpatients consists of 15 band 3 clinic support workers, 7 qualified band 5 nurses, 3 band 6 nurses and 1 band 7 outpatient manager.
We are a close team who work hard to support each other and help each other to develop and grow. We are open to new ideas and ways of working that can improve the experience for patients and staff.
The management team are supportive with training and staff wanting to develop themselves within their career pathways.
