Our Opportunity
Due to an exciting expansion in our curriculum and vocational offer, we are seeking a Lecturer in Beauty Therapy (with barbering). You will inspire pupils who wish to become the next generation of beauticians. At Bishopton PRU we have a key focus on preparing pupils for life beyond school, helping them to gain vocational experience.
Our Beauty Therapy vocational course is one of two new courses on offer this year, we have brand new purpose-built facilities, featuring hair washing stations, salon styling units, manicure stations, and massage tables.
You will instruct, train, demonstrate and assess students on competency/skills based learning programmes within Beauty Therapy, and be responsible for any administrative tasks associated with the running of the programme.
You will have:
Educated to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in Beauty Therapy or other relevant subject area
Minimum of Level 2 qualification in Maths and English
Level 5 Teaching Qualification, or willingness to work towards one
Assessor/Verifier Awards
Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
A commitment to working with students from a range of different backgrounds
