Summary
Job Description
The temple priest is responsible for performing poojas, aarti, abhishekam including conducting chounki and playing musical instruments. It is expected the priest should hold religious education classes on the Hindu scriptures, to the public and must be able to conduct weddings, havans, mundan ceremonies and other Hindu ceremonies.
Qualifications & Skill
The applicant must hold qualifications in Hindi and Sanskrit and understand Vedic scriptures. The applicant should preferably be a scholar of sangeets and musical instruments.
Candidates should have a good standard of verbal and written English, including knowledge and experience in Vedic yoga. Candidates should have a minimum of at least two years’ training and experience in a similar role is essential.
Remuneration
The priest will be paid an annual salary of £24,000. We comply with the National Minimum Wage regulations and we also provide holiday pay and other benefits according to the laws of UK.
