The University of Plymouth is seeking an IT Business Partner to join the Technology & Information Services (TIS) directorate. This is an exciting chance to be part of a progressive and cutting-edge University in a beautiful location, where you can really make a difference.
You will be aligned to a strategic Portfolio of IT activity, shaping solutions, acting as the voice for the business within IT and building a close understanding of strategic requirements and priorities.
You will act as a partner to the business. You will lead the investigation of opportunities to exploit technology for improvement via analysis and scoping studies, resulting in the initiation of projects and change activities. The IT Business Partner will guide stakeholders through the governance and delivery process, helping them understand the capacity and constraints of IT to support their needs and setting expectations regarding delivery.
You will support the Dev Ops teams in the development, planning, resourcing and delivery of IT solutions within a designated remit through working with senior leaders across the University and Technology & Information Services (TIS); and will collaborate with technical experts as appropriate.
The Person:
• Proven ability to turn IT Language into something that the business can identify with (essential) Experience of shaping technology solutions for the business (essential)
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills, including ability to influence at senior level (essential)
• Experience of stakeholder demand management, negotiating and having difficult conversations where necessary (essential)
• Strong customer focus (essential)
• Wide and detailed current IT knowledge (desirable)
• Effective portfolio management and business planning skills (essential)
• Ability to work as part of a cross functional team (essential)
