A Vacancy at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

We have exciting opportunity for an experience and motivated dietitian to join our Upper GI surgery dietetic team, on a permanent 0.4 WTE, job share basis. There is flexibility with the days that the successful candidate can cover, and there is also opportunity for remote working.

The team consists of 1 WTE Band 8a dietitian, 1.5 WTE Band 7 dietitians and 2 WTE Band 6 dietitians, and works collaboratively with the Lower GI/Nutrition team dietitians. The successful candidate will specialise in Upper GI surgery for benign conditions, supporting service development and the supervision of band 6 dietitians. They will co-lead on the delivery of specialist dietetic services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to the GI Surgery dietitians, they will work alongside Upper GI surgeons, clinical nurse specialists, gastroenterologists and the Nutrition Team MDT.

This will depend on the days of the week that the successful candidate will cover, but likely to include a virtual clinic, managing a shared caseload of inpatients and possibly some face to face outpatient activity.

Service development to improve patient and clinical outcomes and service efficiencies.

Support supervision of junior colleagues.

The post holders will be joining a team of over 100 Dietitians working across Guy's, St Thomas’, the Evelina Children's Hospital, and Lambeth, Southwark community services. The department has a strong commitment to research and teaching

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK’s best known hospitals – Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield – as well as community services in Lambeth and Southwark, all with a long history of high quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation.

We are among the UK’s busiest, most successful foundation trusts. We provide specialist care for patients including heart and lung, cancer and renal services as well as a full range of local hospital and community services for people in Lambeth and Southwark.

We have a long tradition of clinical and scientific achievement and – as part of King’s Health Partners – we are one of England’s eight academic health sciences centres, bringing together world-class clinical services, teaching and research. We have one of the National Institute for Health Research’s biomedical research centres, established with King’s College London in 2007, as well as dedicated clinical research facilities.
