Libraries are more than just repositories for books. Caerphilly Library Service plays a valuable role to all residents in the community. Our library spaces are trusted, free to enter and open to everyone. In them, people can explore and share reading, information, knowledge and culture.
Working at a single-staffed location, the Senior Library Assistant will manage the day-to-day operation of the library facility.
The role is important to the delivery of service objectives; setting and meeting performance targets and in meeting community needs both within the library and the wider community all of which are vital as our service continues to meet societal demands and transformational change.
For the role, we ask that you have:
5 GCSEs grades A-C (or equivalent). Or an ECDL or equivalent ICT qualification.
Awareness and appreciation of the uses of ICT applications and the Internet.
Experience in supervision or management of staff.
A flexible approach and be willing and able to work evening and weekends.
We have excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme and staff discount schemes.
