We are looking to recruit Healthcare Support Workers for our In-Patient Unit at the Selby War Memorial Hospital, part of the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Our In-Patient unit provides 24 hour care for patients in the surrounding area; providing rehabilitation and palliative/end of life care, as well as discharge planning. In addition we run a clinic once a week on the ward which undertakes a variety of outpatient treatments for patients within the local area as well as a Consultant led Frailty clinic.
The unit embraces multi-disciplinary team working optimising outcomes for patients. We work on the home first principle, and SAFER is embedded within the unit.
This post requires motivation, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and demonstration of teamworking. You must be able to commit to our 4 week long, full Time Healthcare Support Worker Academy when you join our Trust
We are unable to provide Sponsorship for this role.
• To demonstrate care and compassion whilst ensuring that patients’ needs are met
• To carry out nursing and non-nursing duties as delegated by the registered nurse / midwife; using own initiative within the level of competence expected for the role.
• To assist and support members of the multi-professional team in order to provide a high standard of patient - centred care; performing duties without the need for constant direct supervision.
