An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced GP Veterinary Surgeon to join a dynamic team at a well-established veterinary hospital.

The role involves a mix of surgery and consultation days, covering all aspects of first opinion practice. The full-time position requires working four days a week and one in three Saturday mornings. For candidates unable to commit to full-time hours, part-time options are available. Additionally, the candidate will be on call approximately once a week for hospitalised inpatients.

Situated in the royal town of Windsor, the hospital is surrounded by renowned attractions such as Windsor Castle, Legoland, and Thorpe Park. Windsor offers beautiful countryside, numerous dining and shopping options, and excellent transport links to London and major airports, ensuring easy travel in all directions.

The hospital is a fully equipped first opinion practice handling a variety of surgical and medical cases. It features four consultation rooms, separate cat and dog waiting areas and wards, a dedicated dental suite, an imaging room, and a full in-house laboratory. Advanced equipment includes a Karl Storz laparotomy tower, radiography, ultrasound, dental radiography, Tonopen, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, orthopedic equipment, ECG, and capnography. It is the only practice within a 15-mile radius offering laparoscopic surgery.

The team consists of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, equivalent to 4.5 full-time vets, including two certificate holders in surgery and medicine. The nursing team includes 8 RVNs and 2 students, supported by a dedicated Practice Manager, Reception, and Admin staff. Many team members have been with the practice for years, fostering a supportive and caring environment. The practice prioritizes the welfare of colleagues, providing high standards of client and patient care.

The ideal candidate is an experienced veterinary surgeon proficient in all aspects of first opinion veterinary medicine and surgery. They should strive to provide gold-standard care to patients and clients, working closely with the vet team to ensure clinical excellence and continuity.
Recognizing that people are key to success, the practice offers a comprehensive benefits package. This includes a salary of up to £75k dependent on experience, 6.6 weeks of annual leave, your birthday as a paid day off, and an increasing holiday allowance with length of service, generous CPD allowance including Cert funding, plus much more.
