Finance Manager

We are now recruiting for a talented Finance Manager to lead the finance team at Luton Hoo Hotel.

What we are looking for:

  • At least three years of hotel finance experience, ideally already in a Financial Controller or Finance Manager role.
  • A strong understanding of compliance requirements, best practice of hotel operations, finance function and standard systems.
  • A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
  • Ideally a qualified (ACCA/CIMA) accountant. An accountant qualified by experience will also be considered.

About the role:

  • Coordinate the completion of all forecasts and budgets as required with the full and active participation of the Management Team.
  • Analyse financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotel’s financial objectives.
  • Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit extension, inventories, fixed assets, and payroll.
  • Direct and/or prepare all financial reports in accordance with the company’s requirements meeting various due dates and deadlines.
  • Ensure financial control procedures and systems are ethical and legal.
  • Manage hotel contracts including vendor leases and/or service contracts.
  • Take responsibility for accurate accounting records (The Hotel is operated on a semi self-accounting basis)
  • Lead the Planning and Forecasting process for Luton Hoo Golf and Spa ensuring financial plans are consistent with the strategic objectives.
  • Manage the formulation, review and approval process for budgeting within the hotel.
  • Develop effectiveness of the Finance function through continuous training and development of the team.
