Job Title: CNC Estimator/Programmer

Job type: Days based, Perm

Location: Tewkesbury

Pay: £35,000 - £40,000

Hours: 7am-4pm Mon-Thurs / 7am-12pm Fri

Our client is a small engineering company based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. They service a wide range of clients throughout the United Kingdom and offer a simple, efficient and costeffective solution for all sheet metal requirements including precision metal fabrication, laser cutting, water jet cutting and machining.

They have an opportunity for a full time CNC Estimator/Programmer to join their team. The role would suit a time served CNC setter/programmer familiar with CNC milling and turning looking to move into a more office-based role. You will be dealing with incoming inquiries from the sales team, reading engineering drawings and using your technical knowledge to quote prices based on machine hours, inspection and material requirements.

The Role:
⦁ Read and assess drawings to provide realistic customer expectations are met and opportunities to improve prices are identified
⦁ Produce accurate cost estimates from customer / product specifications
⦁ Programming CNC milling and turning using Hurco WinMax conversational programming system
⦁ Design of work holding jigs and fixtures
⦁ The Person:
⦁ Experience in 3, 4, Axis Milling and Turning
⦁ A keen interest in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and a desire to develop your knowledge
⦁ Has a sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on the success of the company
⦁ Has strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently
⦁ You are consultative, have the ability to question effectively and will be an active listener, you will take the time to fully understand client requirements and be able to advise on potential solutions

Key Skills Required to be Effective:
⦁ Proven CNC experience, with a good understanding of machining principles
⦁ Knowledge and experience in conversational programming of CNC machines
⦁ Knowledge of relative safety standards
⦁ Willingness to use protective clothing
⦁ Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
⦁ Familiarity with Hurco Winmax CNC Control Systems (desirable)
