About the role
At TEC Partnership we are committed to developing the professional and technical skills of our students, who are the workforce and leaders of the future. The Role of the EHCP Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities include:
Administration, coordination, and facilitation of the college’s role in statutory processes
Education placement consultations
Annual review of education health & care plans
Responses to requests for Information
Requests for statutory assessments
Acting as the first point of contact for external and internal queries related to EHCP processes.
About the person
The successful candidate will have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in an educational setting and be familiar with EHCP processes, annual reviews, and statutory assessments. You will need strong administrative and organisational skills and have excellent communication skills, to liaise with students, parents, and external agencies. You will need to have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners and have good attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records.
You will need to have good understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and awareness and understanding of local authority procedures related to EHCPs. Education and Training: A relevant qualification in education, special educational needs, or a related field. A teaching qualification (such as a PGCE or equivalent) is advantageous but not always mandatory.
