Academic Registry is seeking to appoint a senior administrator to support the work of the curriculum activities managed by the Unit as well as to provide support for business functions relating to the Student Journey, specifically in the areas of student records. The Academic Registry looks after the entire student record from application to graduation and is involved with initiatives and processes relating to data quality improvements of the student record and student records developments. In addition, Registry provides a range of services to supply internal and external customers with reports on student records data.
This is an excellent skills-building opportunity to join a busy Professional Service Unit. Candidates with experience of working in other professional service units or in Academic Schools are encouraged to apply.
You will report to the Curriculum Officer and focus on data and information relating to the curriculum, and student records. You will be part of a busy and changing environment. You will work closely with other administrators in Registry to ensure that routine business and ad hoc requests are answered in a timely and professional manner. You will provide administrative support to colleagues out with Registry who are working with curriculum information. You will be working within an annual cycle while providing a critical service to the maintenance and integrity of the University’s student record data. You will be encouraged to engage pro-actively with the role in order to increase your knowledge of academic services and develop your professional skills in the areas of data and stakeholder management.
Educated to HND level or equivalent, you will have previous experience of working within a team undertaking a range of data-related work including data entry and some data analysis. You will enjoy problem-solving and working with colleagues to provide the best possible service. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, an understanding of principles of good data management and have a strong sense of customer focus. You will have the ability to work under pressure, be extremely organised and accurate with meticulous attention to detail. You will be familiar with Microsoft Excel or Access and show initiative and motivation.
Employees of the University have access to a wide range of staff benefits including:
• Annual leave of 30 days, plus 5 public holidays
• Membership of the S&LAS Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions
• A hybrid working environment, including partial homeworking where appropriate and a range of family friendly policies
• Staff discount scheme for local and national goods and services
• Free staff parking, employee Carshare and Cycle to Work Schemes and subsidised local bus travel
• Subsidised sports membership, reduced tuition fees on degree programmes for staff/children of staff, access to library facilities, salary sacrifice scheme and a range of wellbeing initiatives
