Crynodeb
As part of a GIRFT led initiative, Imperial College NHS Trust has been selected to become one of London’s five Major Revision Centres (MRC) to provide joint revision services around regional networks of care.
One of the fundamental principles of the network is to provide a platform of surgical units who specialise in revision surgery and regularly undertake the surgical management of patients with problematic joint replacements. This will improve outcomes and deliver the highest quality of specialist orthopaedic care to all patients within the North West London (NWL) sector and MRC network.
The infrastructure requirements for the MRC will require a band 8a dedicated professional with a statistical background to provide support across the NWL sector and MRC network while continuing to develop the pathways for the service.
This post will be instrumental in improving communication channels between the hospitals, embedding the processes necessary to achieve an MDT approach across the network, facilitating discussion between revision arthroplasty surgeons and, when required, co-ordinate the management of patients to a more appropriate surgical environment.
