Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager with experience within the food industry.
The role will have responsibility to drive delivery and continual improvement in relation to customer services ensuring customer to factory alignment with clear transparency. Drive the customer's best practice food production and technical standards taking into consideration the commercial challenges of the business.
Duties
Implementation of and compliance to technical policies
Manufacture of safe, legal and quality products consistently
Proactively collect, collate and report on relevant site data
Play an active role in achieving site certifications where applicable
Supports and provides a technical service to the site teams
Ensure compliance with raw material and finished product specifications
Carry out internal and supplier audits
Proactively challenge for continuous improvement
Compliance to product surveillance systems
Artwork approval
Responsibilities
Internal auditing: quality management systems, prerequisite programs
Lead service audit: Hallal, Kosher & organic
Manage raw materials and supplier verification
Training of operation on critical food safety, legality and quality procedures and processes
Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventative actions
Ensure internal and external customer requirements are achieved and continually improved with regards to products post launch and issues arising from visits and audits
Ensure customers and legal requirements are always maintained for compliance
Ensure successful delivery of the development cycle by providing relevant information at weekly project meetings, and those associated with our gated development process.
Ensure all relevant technical matters relating to customers/products are formally communicated to the appropriate personnel within the business.
To develop and maintain effective relationships with customers.
Skills and Competencies

Relevant food safety qualifications
Appropriate manufacturing experience to include crisis management, knowledge of safety and quality across the site and product ranges with experience of implementing of corrective action plans and knowledge of regulatory requirements. Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
Attention to detail with the ability to influence at all levels of the business
Strong computer (Microsoft office & database) and communication skills (verbally & written)
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage a small team and prioritise workload
Experience:
Team Management skills: 3 years (required)
Working within the food industry: 5 years (required)
In sauce experience desirable: 3 years (preferred)
