An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a busy, innovative Mortuary Service as a Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technologist.
The post holder will perform a wide range of tasks to support Senior Anatomical Technologists in the provision of an efficient and effective Mortuary service.
These tasks will include patient reception and release duties, handling telephone queries, facilitating viewings, assisting in the preparation of patients for post-mortem examination and various other technical and clerical roles. Cross site working may be required.

Through training and development of skills, you will be involved in the provision of an efficient, high-quality mortuary and autopsy service to our Trust (York, Scarborough and Bridlington Hospital Mortuaries) and local Coroner’s Services in line with current legislation.
You will assist in the provision of a viewing service for bereaved relatives in a supportive and caring environment.
You will maintain effective communications with consultant medical staff and appropriate laboratory staff on operational matters within the Mortuary.
