About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious clinical psychologist, with a passion for working with fostering households, to join Lambeth Fostering Service. We are a strong and supportive multidisciplinary team, working to support and equip foster families to provide the best possible environment for the children in their care. This post is equivalent to a Band 7 to 8a salary depending on experience. We welcome applications from newly qualified clinical psychologists.

Lambeth is a hugely diverse borough which provides opportunities and challenges, both professionally and personally. We are focused on making Lambeth an even better place to live for all families, working within an innovative and relational “Children at the Heart of Practice” framework.

Within this framework, Lambeth Fostering Service recognises the wide-ranging positive impacts of embedded clinical support for children, families and team members, and is committed to a therapeutic approach to foster care. The Clinical Psychologist role involves direct and responsive clinical assessment and evidence-based intervention with foster carers and families, as well as the provision of creative training and consultation sessions for carers and staff teams. In this role you will be working flexibly within the community, and working closely and collaboratively with a range of other agencies.

We value and encourage your continuing professional development: you will have access to a wide spectrum of training opportunities via Lambeth’s Social Care Academy, and regular supervision from the Senior Clinical Psychologist. You will also work closely with colleagues from our partner CAMHS services in the borough, attending team meetings and other collective spaces.

Lambeth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Lambeth operates stringent safer recruitment procedures.

Why Lambeth:-

  • Fantastic, modern working environment in the award-winning Lambeth Town Hall and Civic Centre buildings
  • Competitive Salaries
  • Up to 35 days annual leave, dependent upon continuous service
  • 5 Minutes from London Underground and excellent transport links into the centre of London
  • Hybrid/Flexible working
  • Cycle to Work Scheme (including City Bike Hire scheme)
  • Attractive Local Government Pension Scheme
