We are seeking a Watford New Hospital Project Senior Programme Manager to lead the project management of the redevelopment of a new 100,000 square meter acute general hospital. Working closely with the Acute Redevelopment Project Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for project managing all aspects of the project from inception to completion.

The new Watford General Hospital already has outline planning permission and will be built on land between the current site and Thomas Sawyer Way. The design is driven by a model of care which will extend beyond our hospital walls and into the community, draw on the latest developments in technology, provide a state-of-the-art care environment for our patients and create the working conditions our staff deserve.

In particular the role will entail coordinating and managing the following workstreams:

• Service Transformation
• Design and Construction
• Commercial and financial
• Communications and engagement

Each of these workstreams will be led and managed by specialist subject matter experts; the Watford New Hospital Project Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for planning, monitoring and coordinating, their work, as well as monitoring and maintaining the project programme and budget.

Strategic Planning:
Monitor and track project progress against key milestones and deliverables, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
Communicate regularly with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, staff, and external partners, to provide updates on project status, solicit feedback, and address any concerns or questions.

Establish, direct and manage a complex multi-project portfolio for the deployment of complex projects to improve patient care, ensuring that these are delivered in line with WHHT business requirements and Standing Financial Instructions, with any relevant national guidelines, procurement regulations and wider regulations also adhered to.

Operational:
Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation

Monitor and track project progress against key milestones and deliverables, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, building codes, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure that priorities, plans and outcomes are fully communicated, honesty regarding potential issues and lessons learnt is promoted and enthusiasm for future change maintained.

Manage the accuracy and integrity of the project elements of the Trust risk register on Datix as appropriate and using other internal project software and databases as required.

Resolve conflicts and issues, interpreting applicable local and national guidance as appropriate and in close liaison with frontline service teams.
