Do you enjoy working with complex PTSD? Are you qualified and experienced in the delivery of trauma focussed therapies? Well, this might be the role for you!

The Haringey cPTSD pathway is looking for a suitably qualified mental health professional to see service users from our waiting list for trauma focussed therapy. This will be a band 8a post and ideally three days a week (0.6) for a year. But we are open to other options for right candidate.

You will be part of a well functioning, creative and dynamic multidisciplinary team and attend weekly team meetings to received support and advice regarding your patients, so they are held by the team rather than just by you as an individual.

You would have access to regular specialist clinical supervision. We might ask for you to get involved in other team responsibilities from time to time for example carrying out assessment or providing specific training/consultation around trauma.

The cPTSD pathway provides a phased treatment program for service users presenting with complex, comorbid PTSD symptoms. Treatment modules include values based behavioural activation, group psycho-education work and trauma focused therapies including Narrative Exposure Therapy, EMDR and Trauma Focused CBT.

The post will involve::

· Delivering specialist trauma focused therapy to service users within Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) pathway.

· Attending weekly team meetings to discuss your service users to keep the team informed and ensure a team based and MDT approach to the care of your service users therefore a shared responsibility for care of service users.

· Contribute to wider discussions (e.g. in team meetings) about clinical cases and the strategic and operational functioning of the team.

· Other duties as needed especially in relation to your service users e.g. linking with the crisis team, liaising with external agencies, assessments.

· To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

· To attend and engage in regular supervision (receiving) for your trauma focused therapy cases.

· You may be asked to offer assessments/consultations with regards to the service users under the pathway, either individually with other members of the MDT.

The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.

The postholder will need to be comfortable working in an environment of complex matrix management arrangements and will at all times behave and align with our Trusts’ values and cultural pillars:
• We are kind
• We are respectful
• We work together
• We keep things simple
• We empower
• We are proudly diverse

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work.
