Crynodeb

Clinical: The postholder will, together with colleagues, be responsible for the provision of services to the Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust to include: The post holders will part of the team looking after inpatients with Gastroenterological disorder admitted to St Thomas hospital, under the supervision of Gastroenterology consultants and specialist trainees. The majority of these patients are admitted to the Gastroenterology ward, with some outliers in other medical and surgical wards. The FY doctors work on a 7-day rota 1:5, covering weekdays and weekends from 8.30 am to 9 pm. There are no night shifts. Involvement in service development and the improvement of quality of care through audit and quality improvement projects will be facilitated. Undertaking the administrative duties necessary as part of clinical sessions, including writing of letters and provision of advice to GPs and other specialities. Additional Requirements, Occasional Duties and Responsibilities: At all times staff must work within the policy guidelines of the Trust. This includes following safe working practices, financial and personnel regulations and the equal opportunities policy. The list of duties given above is not an exhaustive list and the post holder may be asked to undertake other duties in line with the grading of the post as may be required. Teaching: The post holder will be expected to contribute as appropriate in the teaching of undergraduate students. Clinical Governance: All medical and dental staff are expected to take part in clinical governance activity, including clinical audit, clinical guideline and protocol development and clinical risk management.
