Summary

Rullion require experienced Mechanical Fitters to work with a world leading Rail / Rolling Stock company as a Train Maintainer, based out of their Train Maintenance Service Depot in Morden London.

This position would suit candidates with either Rolling Stock, Light Rail, Large Transportation or Military Vehicle experience.

Train Maintainer / Team Member, Golders Green, London.

Contract duration: 6 months initial term.

Working days: Mon to Thursday or Tues to Friday - 42 hours per week

Shifts: Days

This role falls inside of IR35 and therefore payment options are either PAYE or Umbrella:

Hourly rate: £27.35-£28.83 (Umbrella) / £21.95 (PAYE).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance tasks on Rolling Stock, including preparation, repairs, overhaul, and shunting, adhering to specified Company, Quality, and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Overhaul of the heat & vent system on Northern Line trains
  • Mainly mechanical however some crimping / electrical knowledge required.
  • Attend team briefings, communicate relevant matters, and contribute to process improvement.
  • Coach and develop other Train Maintainers as needed.
  • Report accidents/incidents and participate in training programs.
  • Utilize line side equipment and handheld devices as instructed.
  • Undertake maintenance off-site or attend failed trains, and drive company vehicles if licensed.

Educational Requirements:

  • GCSE standard education.
  • Completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, SVQ, NVQ), with practical knowledge and experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Proficiency in electronics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
  • Previous experience in Rolling Stock Maintenance preferred.
  • Background in a process/production environment.
  • Familiarity with Quality and Health & Safety standards.
  • Understanding of IT and handheld equipment.
