Our purpose and mission is to provide low carbon energy solutions to cut carbon intensity by 80% in 2030; this requires a modern, digitalised energy system with reliable flows of data at its core to enable whole system optimisation. We're transforming the way we deliver value from data in order to drive net-zero - we're working on creating data platforms and data products to help execute on that vision and deliver innovative use cases like microgrid optimisation. We want to ensure trusted data is used by our people to enable business process efficiencies and unlock the value of our data through democratisation.
We have a vacancy for a Data Architect Lead to drive the creation of our vision through designing, creating and managing our data architecture.
The Data Architect Lead, which is an emerging role in our data and analytics team, will play a pivotal part in operationalising the most-urgent data and analytics initiatives whilst delivering on our data strategy. Being a new role in the team, you'll shape best practice, and work collaboratively with data scientists and data engineers to set a roadmap and deliver value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and drive the implementation of conceptual, physical and logical data models.
- Act as design authority for projects, designing and embedding data architecture standards and principles.
- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts.
- Collaborate with Data Governance function to drive Data Strategy.
- Liaise with data owners and other business colleagues to shape and define architecture artefacts.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience in designing and implementing data models.
- Experience collaborating with data governance to implement data strategy.
- Experience mentoring or managing team members.
- Knowledge of Databricks and Azure/AWS Cloud platforms.
- Passion for continuous improvement in a collaborative working environment.
