An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 within Intensive care at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

We have a dedicated Practice Educator team with strong links into the Greater Manchester Critical Care Network, they will support you closely in your journey to complete relevant courses to be the best ICU nurse you can be.

In return you will work in a well-established nursing, medical and managerial team with the future of a new build in 2024, seeing 8 beds move to a purpose-built ICU with future build to follow.

A wealth of knowledge and experience on the ICU setting which allows individuals to develop and expand on clinical skills. The post will offer opportunities to remain continually up to date with your mandatory training and allow staff to develop further by completing extra training, expanding their knowledge and clinical skills i.e., A teaching qualification, ILS and the Greater Manchester Critical Care Course.

You will work as part of the disciplinary health care team providing planned care and delivering the highest standards of patient care within the ICU. The role is exciting and challenging, where compassion, teamwork, excellent communication skills, emotional resilience and initiative are paramount. You must be a great team player, motivated to work in a fast placed environment, with the ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact.

You should be positive and adaptable to a changing environment that prides itself on quality and efficiency, whilst remaining calm and diplomatic.

You must have the ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure, work within a large multidisciplinary team, and ensure the Trust Values are incorporated into practice. You will be enthusiastic, motivated, and committed to wanting to help drive advanced skills within this challenging but exciting environment.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
