Job Overview
Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Case Manager for Housing Property Compliance. This newly created post is vital for ensuring the safety and statutory compliance of the council’s housing stock. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various compliance checks, including fire safety assessments, legionella risk assessments, and other health and safety inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fire safety checks, including fire risk assessments, fire door inspections, and fire alarm testing.
Develop and review fire strategic plans and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).
Engage with residents on fire-related safety issues and provide necessary guidance.
Perform legionella risk assessments and emergency light inspections.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections and compliance checks.
Report any issues or non-compliance to the Client Manager promptly.
Spend significant time visiting residents in their homes or housing blocks to perform inspections.
Work independently and manage time effectively to cover all required areas.
Requirements
Proven experience in housing property compliance, particularly in fire safety and health and safety checks.
Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements related to housing.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective resident engagement.
Ability to work independently and manage a schedule of inspections.
Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
Comfortable with lone working and visiting residents in various locations.
