Position: Financial Inclusion and Welfare Rights Officer

Hours: 37.5 per week (to be worked between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday)

Salary: Up to £26,198 per annum depending on experience, current salary and
qualifications

The post holder will manage a caseload of corporate appointee ships for vulnerable adults who cannot manage their own finances and need support with DWP benefit claims. Responsibilities include ensuring benefits are maximised, providing clients with access to finances for daily needs, and offering welfare rights and budgeting advice. They will also deliver training, develop help documents, and occasionally travel nationally to provide support and information to clients and staff.

Key duties include:

  • Acting as a corporate appointee, ensuring full benefit entitlement and handling benefit claims and appeals.
  • Managing client's finances in a person-centred way, including administering corporate bank accounts and pre-pay card systems.
  • Ensuring bills are paid promptly and financial arrangements are documented.
  • Monitoring and reviewing appointee ships regularly.
  • Providing welfare benefits and budgeting advice, promoting financial inclusion, and supporting staff with benefit claims and appeals.
  • Facilitating the purchase of items via company client credit cards and maintaining accurate financial records.

The role requires working within the ethos of Creative Support, maintaining accountability, and supporting the Internal Audit Team as needed.
