The Anticoagulation Department is seeking responsible and enthusiastic individuals to work as Phlebotomists in our Fylde Coast Community Diagnostic Centres and also will rotate within the Anticoagulation clinics. This is an exciting opportunity to broaden your experience and learn new skills in this interesting role. You will be required to perform venepuncture and capillary sampling for safe collection of blood at the community sites and also in patients homes.
Applicants need to be able and willing to work between the hours of 8:30am and 16:45 pm including Saturday mornings 1 in 5 on a rotation.
Taking blood samples from patients in the Community Diagnostic Centres, which are then transported for analysis at Blackpool Victoria Hospital Pathology Department
Particular qualities we are looking for include:

You will need basic computer skills and be able to meet the physical demands of the job which include standing, bending, walking and have a full driving licence for using work fleet vehicles.
Previous hospital or community phlebotomy experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided to ensure you have the skills required to fulfil the position.

This post is part of an expansion of the local phlebotomy service, to provide near patient testing services in the Community Diagnostic Centres, as an alternative to attending Outpatients at the main Blackpool Victoria Hospital site.
