Advise and contribute on the development and implementation of specialist local public health programmes working with a wide range of people and organisations to improve health and wellbeing and address health inequalities. Contribute to the delivery of the local authority statutory public health responsibilities that impact on the health and wellbeing of people, families, and communities. Provide specialist advice and information to a range of internal colleagues, departments, and partner organisations. Support groups, communities and organisations to identify health needs, formulate plans to address their needs, and take action to evaluate their impact. Build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the Council at partnership meetings and events. Lead on, and participate in, multi-agency project teams and groups so that departmental objectives are achieved. Contribute to partnership plans and ensure these integrate with wider Council plans. Manage projects and contracts within a specialist area to ensure successful delivery on time, to budget requirements and within objectives, making sure that formal procedures are adhered to. Support the delivery of transformational activity and the enabling work programmes. Compile briefing, reports and presentations for a range of audiences as required. Monitor and report on service standards to ensure that local delivery is aligned to best practice and wider council strategies. Monitor, influence, and where relevant, manage allocated budgets within financial regulations. Identify external funding opportunities and develop bids for funding. Supervise and manage staff. Ensure you operate within GDPR guidelines by regularly reviewing data held and destroying information in line with retention schedules.
