Located on Englefield Estate, near Theale, Reading and managed by Affinity Trust, Englefield Garden Centre is the home of such a project.

Growing over 100,000 plants a year, Englefield is not only a thriving Garden Centre but also runs a horticultural workshops for people with Learning disabilties and Autism.

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Garden Centre Assistant to work at our Garden Centre supporting people who attend our horticulture workshops to develop basic horticulture skills and knowledge whilst also supporting their development of social and interpersonal skills, communication and to have fun in a creative and safe environment.

As part of this role, you will also be assisting in the successful day to day running of the Centre and serving customers.

This is a part time role for 7.5 hours per week, working flexibly to support the running of the centre.

Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence

What will you do?

Previous horticultural knowledge is essential.

You should also have paid or personal experience supporitng people with Learning disabilities and Autism.

You will need a flexible approach to work and be prepared to try new ideas.
