Summary
This is an exciting12 monthopportunity for a full time Occupational Therapist working 37.5 hours a week to join the Community Based Neuro Rehab Team (CBNRT) to cover maternity leaveon a fixed term contract.
The contractual base for the post will be Wokingham but the postholder will be required to see patients across Reading and Wokingham localities.
We are seeking a HCPC registered Band 5 Occupational Therapist with an interest in Neuro Rehab and with experience in the area either since or prior to qualification. The successful applicant will be supported in a development post to Band 6, this will be dependent on reaching the required competencies within the fixed term of the post.
CBNRT is a supportive multi-disciplinary team (MDT) who deliver high quality assessments and rehabilitationin their homesfor patients who have been discharged from the Acute Stroke Units and for patients in the community with Neurological conditions who needrehabilitation.
We are looking for a professional, motivated,flexibleand compassionateOccupational therapist with excellent communication skills toprovide Neurorehabilitation as a valued member of our MDT.
You will be able to work as part of a team,as well as have experienceworking inpatients’ homes. You will be able to manage your own caseload working collaboratively with anexperienced multi-disciplinary team which includes Physiotherapists, Stroke Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Therapy Assistants.
The role will provide specialist Occupational Therapy to adults with Neurological conditions that require Rehab as part of the community neurorehabilitation and Earlier Supported discharge team for Stroke. The post will be offered to individuals who are motivated, innovative and have experience in neurological rehabilitation to join a dynamic, client centred service that provide excellence in the rehabilitation and management of patients.
You will be supported to develop your clinical skills within the well-established multi-disciplinary team.
The role enables you to work with new stroke patients and progressive neurological conditionsand develop awide-rangingskillset of Neuro Rehabexpertise.
