The East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC) is a vibrant new Elective Care Hub opening December 2024. EMPCC will provide a Multi - professional approach providing the right care in right place by a skilled and expert team. UHL are leading the way in healthcare and transforming the way we work to reduce waiting times, improve patient care and staff experience.
The EMPCC will focus on the provision of high volume, low complexity care across a range of specialities , promising increased access to healthcare services improving overall experience, increased staff wellbeing, training and development opportunities, as a well as a chance to work with the latest equipment and techniques.

We are currently looking to recruit to the following roles:
• Medical Engineering
• Pathology Scientist
• Audiologist
• Ophthalmic Technician /Photographer OPD
• Orthoptist (AHP)
Roles for recruitment:
Medical Engineering
• Acceptance testing of new equipment
Introducing equipment and devices into service
Advising on the correct use of equipment
Addressing patient safety issues
Safely disposing of old devices
Pathology Scientist
• A wide range of established laboratory techniques (e.g. basic tissue sampling; processing; embedding and orientation; support of all technical and research activities within the department
Audiologist
• Carrying out routine procedures within the Audiology service such as adult rehabilitation, direct referrals from primary care, hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings with verification, plus diagnostic audiometry support to ENT clinics.
Ophthalmic Technician /Photographer OPD
• Supports the diagnostic delivery of ophthalmology services and includes but not exclusive to : Automated perimetry ; ophthalmic imaging including anterior and posterior segment; biometry and corneal topography
Orthoptist
• Participate in general Orthoptic, Refraction, and Medic clinics.
