Our Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and experienced professional to join East Whitby Academy as our new Academy Business Manager. As Business Manager, you will be responsible for the business operations of the academy and the oversight of all matters pertaining to the organisation and running of the academy, save for teaching and learning.
You will work closely with our administrative team and will support the Headteacher. The key duties will be in the areas of day-to-day running of the office, resources, facilities, and finance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an astute and highly motivated colleague to join our school administration team. This role will appeal to prospective colleagues looking for further development in a school support role, or to someone who is interested in working within education.
Key Duties
• Support our Headteacher with lettings, invoices, and supporting with all health & safety matters including preparing for reviews, day-to-day monitoring of premises, risk assessments etc.
• Undertake safer recruitment checks and deal with aspects of personnel, including staff absence recording.
• Support with the organisation of all school trips, both residential and day visits.
• Administer the day-to-day finances of the school including processing orders for all resources and arranging payments of invoices with the central trust office.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and friendly person who:
• Has experience of using finance and payroll systems
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Has the ability to work accurately and methodically with attention to detail
• Is friendly with a ‘can do’ and solution focused attitude
