Crynodeb

The Camden CAMHS Children Looked After and Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers Team is a multi-disciplinary specialist team which is co-located with social workers from the Local Authority Children Looked After and Permanency Teams. The team provides mental health support to young people, their carers and works closely with their professional networks. The service supports the needs of Children Looked After by Camden both within and outside of the borough.

The CAMHS team has extended its offer to Care Experienced Young People up to the age of 24 years in recognition that this is a group which often falls between the gaps in services and often have unsupported complex needs. This is one of two posts dedicated to support this population, the other is a band 6 who will be supported by the band 7 to engage young people in the community.

The Camden CAMHS CLA and UASC team is a lively, supportive and dedicated team. They work hard to ensure that they provide a good service for their patients. The team is also very creative using a number of different interventions and supports to ensure they meet the needs of the young people they work with. They welcome new ideas and suggestions.

The post holder will hold a caseload of highly complex service users and will be responsible for working with young people (aged 16 – 24) who are Looked After and/or Care Experienced young people. The post holder will be accountable for a caseload of clients, supported by the CAMHS multi-disciplinary team and will receive regular supervision from a higher banded clinician within the team. They will be expected to work jointly with other members of the team offering specialist CAMHS advice, consultation and training as required.

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidenced based care to a group of service users, conscious of their changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity, working collaboratively, with other clinicians and stakeholders.
