Outline description of post of Higher Education Liaison Officer
Overview:

Oaks International, in association with its Partner under GAEC, Global Applied Education Consortium , works to facilitate Chinese people in applying for, and then succeeding in, further and higher education in the UK.

Key aspects of this work are:

Forming relationships with UK higher Education institutions.

Becoming an agent of appropriate UK universities. (particularly Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Durham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Southampton and Warwick. Beyond these any university in the top 200 of the QS world rank may be approached, eg Exeter, Kent, East Sussex etc)

Helping Oaks, selected UK institutions, and Chinese institutions to develop appropriate twinning arrangements between them (a twinning arrangement is an arrangement whereby part of a programme is taught and assessed in the host country and the rest of the programme is taught and assessed in the UK).

The role of Liaison Officer is to carry out this work.

Forming relationships

Preparing materials with which to approach target universities.

Communicating with and visiting target universities.

Assisting in the establishing of Agencies

Assisting Oaks International management in establishing links (and developing Agency Agreements) with UK HE institutions.

Assisting in the submission of student applications to Universities

Assisting in the development of Twinning arrangements.

Building an understanding of the curricula of appropriate Chinese institutions

Working with them and Oaks management is identifying potential areas for the development of twinning.

Working with UK institutions on fulfilling the potential of twinning arrangements.
