Applications are invited for the post of a full time substantive Consultant in Clinical Oncology specialising in urological and breast cancers with a specialist interest in prostate seed brachytherapy.

This is a replacement post with the successful candidate joining the Cancer Directorate at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, to support the urological and breast cancer service at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team to help develop the existing service and expand the trial portfolio.

• Maintaining the highest clinical standards in the management of urological and breast cancers. Sharing with colleagues the responsibility for day-to-day management of the clinical service.
• Participating in complex radiotherapy planning and treatment techniques including prostate seed brachytherapy.
• Delivery of systemic therapy.
• Recruitment to and active participation in clinical trials.
• Taking an active role in the design of original clinical trials and studies.
• Supervision of undergraduates, junior doctors and other staff.
• Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings, ward rounds and on call commitments.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have CCT or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Leadership is a key requirement of doctors’ professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
