Salary: £22,336.00 - £22,796.00 (pro – rata as part time role)Contract: 10 hrs a week Permanent.Location: South Bristol Skills AcademyWhat will you be doing?City of Bristol College has an exciting opportunity for an Animal Care Technician to work with young people and adults in the Animal Centre at the South Bristol Skills Academy who are studying an animal care qualification.Our aim is to ensure all students receive an outstanding experience and are well supported to achieve their qualification to the highest of standards so the animal care technician role is crucial for ensuring that the Animal Centre is maintained to a very high standard of safety and the animals are well cared for to meet the Animal Welfare regulations.This Permanent role will include working one day every weekend and 1 day during the week.The role will involve:Providing help, advise and assist students during their training and whilst carrying out practical activities or assist other lecturers in a classroom as part of a curriculum programmeMaintaining the resources within the Animal centre to ensure they are fit for purpose to meet the Curriculum need.Monitoring stock control and ordering resources to meet the curriculum need.We are looking for someone with experience of working in the animal care sector, ideally holds a minimum of a Level 3 Qualification in Animal Management and who is confident in working in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities.You will also need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally, as well as other members of College staff and students.What we offerA generous holiday entitlement of 26 holiday days (plus bank holidays and 8 closure days) pro rata.Membership to the Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of 16.1 %As well as a range of staff support packages.
