Summary


We are seeking an outstanding and talented individual to join our senior management team in the role of Deputy Chief Finance Officer. The individual being technically competent and already knows what good looks like and has the ability to handle data which will be a foundation for you that will drive change. Unlike many organisations we do not lack information or opportunities, but we do need to provide more and better financial support for the organisation to translate these into actions.

The role offers a unique opportunity for you to use strategic financial management skills to impact the organisation. Because it will have an impact, the role is demanding and offers you a chance to hone skills that will be essential when you yourself join a Board as a CFO; a journey which you will be supported on.

Last financial year the organisation for the first time ended with a deficit, which the Board as a whole is determined will not become structural. This presents an exciting and interesting challenge for a person who is being empowered to support a finance function and profession to face into such a challenge.

This post will be based at Heatherwood Hospital although it is a cross-site role with responsibilitiesat allsites. The postmanagesa teamacross Finance, Contracting, Procurement, Information governance and will support the largest New Hospital Scheme in the country; providing strategic, commercial, tactical and governance advice to the programme.

The post holder is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the financial control, strategy and management. The post holder will apply financial techniques and coordinate supporting technical information.

A key part of the role the post holders role is to ensure that Finance, Planning, Contracts and procurement services teams work together to ensure the Trust maximises the commercial and operational opportunities from activity, controls and performance.

The post holder will lead to coordinate, develop and modernise functions, approaches and engagement with clinicians and stakeholders in particular. In fulfilling the role, the post holder will proactively work closely and in partnership with the Chiefs of Service, Board Members as well as leaders and managers across the Trust, providing strategic advice, as well as challenge to ensure the on-going health and long-term sustainability of the organisation.
