TITLE: HGV Class 1 Driver

ARC Group are looking for a Class 1 HGV driver, specialising in curtain side general haulage. You will be involved role in the transportation of goods using a large truck, with a curtain side trailer. This job will start off initially as a 4 week contract with the opportunity to be extended for the right driver.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving and Navigation
• Operate Class 1 HGV safely and efficiently on various types of roads.
• Plan routes using maps and GPS to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Adhere to road safety regulations and company policies.
Loading and Unloading
• Secure loads properly to prevent damage and ensure safety.
• Use appropriate equipment for loading and unloading goods.
• Ensure goods are delivered in the same condition they were loaded.
Vehicle Maintenance
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Report any mechanical issues or damages to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained.
Documentation and Reporting
• Complete and maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Handle delivery paperwork, including invoices and receipts.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders.
Customer Service
• Interact professionally with customers during pick-ups and deliveries.
• Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and courteously.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Valid Class 1 HGV Licence: Must have the appropriate driving licence for operating a Class 1 HGV.
• Driver CPC Qualification: Ensure compliance with Driver Certificate of Professional Competence requirements.
• Experience: Previous experience in general haulage and operating a curtainside trailer is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Familiarity with road safety laws and transport regulations.
• Good Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
