Summary
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Roofer specializing in the installation of solar panels to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in roofing and solar panel installation, demonstrating proficiency in both areas. The Roofer (Solar Panel Installation Specialist) will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs and solar panel systems on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work at heights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Solar Panel Installation:
o Install solar panels on roofs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
o Ensure proper alignment, secure mounting, and optimal positioning of solar panels for maximum efficiency.
o Connect solar panels to the electrical system, including wiring and inverter connections.
• Roofing:
o Perform roof inspections to assess the condition and suitability for solar panel installation.
o Repair and replace damaged or deteriorated roofing materials to prepare surfaces for solar panel installation.
o Install various roofing materials (e.g., shingles, tiles, metal) as needed to ensure roof integrity and water-tightness.
• Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
o Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection systems.
o Comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Project Coordination:
o Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
o Communicate effectively with clients to address questions, concerns, and provide updates on project progress.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
o Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of installed solar panel systems.
o Diagnose and repair issues with solar panel systems and roofing as necessary.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in roofing and/or solar panel installation preferred.
• Proven experience as a roofer, with a focus on solar panel installations.
• Knowledge of various roofing systems, materials, and techniques.
• Familiarity with solar panel systems, electrical wiring, and photovoltaic (PV) technology.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturer instructions.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and fall protection systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and equipment.
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
